JDAM and Buharry,
Buharry: I wish to seek your permission and assistance to embed the
Raaki video of the QGIG presentation on the Bijilo Forest Project. I
do
not see an embed code on the video. Is it on Youtube already? Please
help.
JDAM:
Thank you for sharing. I am putting together a montage on the recently
unveiled QGIG (Saudi King's investment in Islam) development called
the
Bijilo Forest Project (www.thegdp.org,Lighthouse,The Lighthouse
Herald). I would appreciate it if you could kindly put together legal
summaries regarding The Alimenta, Baba Jobe (YDE), and
Jack Faal
matters, and a summary of the extortion involved in the Hassan Touray
Affair. I will weave them in with due credit.
I do understand the religious undertones (Islamic Summit) of the
Bijilo
Forest Development but the article will suggest that even Islam does
not desire to associate with such a convenient muslim as Yahya.
Hopefully the Saudi government will come to realize how
counterproductive this investment is to the fortunes of Islam and the
good name of the Islamic summit.
Thank you in advance.
Haruna.

"Frivolous charge" Ginny? I agree, but then Her Lordship disagrees
with
both of us, and the overwhelming majority of G-Post members.
As indicated in the writeup forwarded by George, this is clearly a
commercial dispute, and it must not be resolved in the criminal
courts.
This is not to rule out all criminal accountability, but it is hard to
see how that should be the Gambia Government's first port of call.
However, there are precedents and we should, to a degree, be fearful
for what awaits Hassan Touray and his at-large co-accused. Although
the
ultimate outcome for previous cases with international dimensions, e.
g., Alamenta, was good for the accused, the domestic cases resulted in
real travesties. I am thinking here about the Baba Jobe case, and the
relatively recent saga involving Dr Jack Faal. The first G-Poster to
tell us the ultimate outcome in the Jack Faal affair gets a donation
to
US$5 to his/her opposition party of choice.
I think "frivolous", in relationship to legal proceedings, is a rule
of
law concept. When a case, civil, or, criminal, with high political
dimensions comes before a Gambian court, there must exist serious
conscience and courage on the bench for an edifying outcome.
Freedom Newspaper suggests Hassan Touray thinks his people can come up
with the money for the outrageous US$1m+ bail bond. I am unsure about
the wisdom of committing to such an apparently unconstitutional bail
condition. Should Hassan disappear, even through no choice of his, the
Government may proceed to forfeit the bail. Can you appreciate the
potential duality of loss here? I guess Her Lordship is covering
herself by effectively ensuring no bail is granted.
In The Gambia of Professor Nasiru Deen, "frivolous" can be extremely
costly.
And so like YJ on a tangential matter, I am also "puzzled"

Greetings all, OK, am I understanding this correctly? Pristine
Consulting enters into a contract with the Gambian government, and
then
when the company seeks payment from the government for the said
company's services, the government first begins arresting and
intimidating the employees of said company, and then arrests the head
of the company and brings up frivolous charges against him? Is this
all because the government doesn't want to pay the money they agreed
to
in the contract? Or am I somehow missing something here?
If this is the case, then it seems that the Gambian government has
really sunk to another low here. I mean, my goodness, just pay the
guy/company his money and move on.
