I heard a faint auroral signal on six meters a couple of hours ago.  Also
worked PY1NB in Rio de Janeiro on 75 meter SSB earlier this evening, a sign
of intense propagation into Latin America that often accompanies magnetic
storms.  

Part of the hoopla surrounding this eruption is that scientists have never
been able to observe the sun in the detail that is possible now.  This one
will probably not rate as a really major geomagnetic storm, although I could
be wrong.
