Histo can also affect heart and other organs, sometimes leading to death. Many people here in the Ohio Valley have had mild infections without knowing it.

While inspecting construction under a bridge last summer I noticed a guano build-up and had to call in the poop-squad. After a few weeks they showed up in goon suits with a vac-truck. I hope the fan vent had HEPA filters. I don't know if they washed it down. I didn't stick around. One of my fellow inspectors had to oversee installation barbed-lattice work on buildings with frequent roosts. PETA doesn't seem to like swat teams with b-b guns.

We do have a longstanding air patrol of peregrine falcons here in Cincinnati. They say they're effective, and they're fun to watch.
