congrats on your new call.  I hope you find the hobby interesting, and  
fun.  I got my license in 2005, and I'm tellin you I've made a stream  
of contacts.  interesting the first worldwide contact I made was via 2  
meters thanks to I R L P, when the contact I made was from Sweeeden.   
Amazing wwhat can happen when you least expect it.  just a thought.  O  
and have you gotten you something like an HT, mobile, or base station  
for operating here of recent, just wondering.
