I have the latest jaws and using windows XP and I have had the same problem
since I upgraded to Jaws 10.0. I have took much of the same action that you
described but to but to no avail. I also reinstalled jaws but I can go back
to jaws 9.0 and everything is fine. Just thought I would pass this along
since you mentioned it. There may be some complaining since we mentioned
this on this list.
