 you better talk to the folks on cape cod and the vineyard  where the wood

untreated...... the historic lichen and mildew will have you putting on new
shingles in five years ; where as you might get 20.if you wash it
I have two pressure washers both are "hot " water (best cleaner for stone)
 one is 900 psi and the other is 3000 psi .
