I'm going to assume that you are running W95.  When you install hardware
into a W95 machine, the slot information is stored in the registry.
Chances are that when you moved the video card to another slot, W95 found a
card in a slot that was previously empty and asked for the drivers so that
it could be installed.  The O/S didn't know that this was the same card you
had been using all this time.  Try this.  Go to the "Device Manager" tab in
Control Panel -> System.  Look for your video card, it should be under
display adapters.  Is it now listed twice?  If so, is the little yellow
exclamation point indicated on one of the listings?  If so, this is
probably the entry for the card in the old slot and can safely be removed.
If not, I'm not sure what the deal is.
