Jed,
I've been running RTTY for a few years now, using the free MMTTY software
and JAWS. Not perfect, but suits my needs and I've got just over 100
countries in the log. While MMTTY will do both TX and RX, my personal
preference is to use MMTTY for the RX/decode stuff, and then alt-tab to my
logging software for the transmit side.
Like some others on this list, I've had marginal results with PSK 31.
The free Digipan software is the most usable, but far from perfect on the RX
side. The old free Digitalk psk for the blind is still out there and can
get you running on a Windows 98 pc, but doesn't seem to work on anything
starting with XP service pack 2.
73, have fun, Steve KW3A
