Rick,

I don't think it really matters whether your on vfo a or b.  The active vfo 
is your receive vfo and the other vfo is the transmit vfo.  You can check 
this out by hitting the small round button to the right of the menu button 
when split mode is active.  When you hold that button in, you will hear the 
transmit frequency and while your holding in that button, you will be 
receiving on that frequency also.

Hi list.
Could some one please tell me how to do split operations on the TS-2000?
If I understand right, you put the receive frequency on VFO a, and the =
transmit frequency on VFO B and hit split.
But I haven't found A reliable way to tell what VFO I'm on.
I haven't played with it much though.
