Well, maybe I should consider myself lucky then.

Did you ask them for a replacement, or just live with the problem?

Obviously, there must be something wrong with the belt clip assemblies on 
the newer models.

My older one, from 2002, is hanging in there just fine, and has taken much 
more abuse than the newer one ever did.
