Hey All

The answers to your questions David are:

1. About $40
2. Rosewill RNX-EasyN4 IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wireless-N 2.0 Broadband Router
(2T2R)
3. Up to 300Mbps Data Rates

I have heard people that get 300mbps but don't know how they get it. As
for me I only get 270mbps but I get that pretty much throughout the
house even in the basement.
My concern here is I have a Linksys WRT-160n just sitting around not
being used (emergency backup). But I have used it just for that reason
here a while ago while I was getting my Rosewill replaced. All I got for
bandwidth was 120mbps, which is not even half of the 300. So at this
point unless I can figure out a way to get the Linksys real close to the
270mbps then I may have to go buy another Rosewill and use it. The cost
of buying the Linksys usb nic's is way to expensive! I can buy about 4
of the Rosewill routers for that price. So guess what!

So the bottom line is if there is no way to get better bandwidth with
the Linksys router than I will have to go and get the second Rosewill.
Then I'll probably be back here with more questions about getting the
two routers to play nice together (maybe not). I only have basic
networking knowledge so unless this goes fairly plug & play!

Thanks All!!

About what did you pay for the router? What is the model number? What is the
rated speed of router?

They are 3 modes of the n router.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Wireless N but only 120mbps

Hi All

First want to say thanks to all that replied to my thread "Allowing
guest access to Internet not lan" which I'm going to go with the
multiple router route. Now is that my second router is a Linksys but my
nic's are Rosewill (all being "N") I have a problem of only getting
around 120mbps bandwidth through the Linksys. I don't get the reported
300mbps even with the Rosewill and matched NIC's I get 270mbps and the
router is only 10 feet away or less with a clear shot to boot. So I'm
concerned about using the Linksys router in this case. Since the
Rosewill router is only 40 bucks I might consider just getting another one.

I read somewhere that you have to have to match the NICS to the router
in order to get maximum bandwidth. Is this true or am I missing
something somewhere? Is this bandwidth normal in this case? The
bandwidth is barely better than super g mode.

By the way my Rosewill is the Easy4 using WEP security, shared key. My
environment is home/office more home than office. With two desktops
wireless and two laptops wireless and two desktops wired.

Thanks
