Can I leave the antenna groundmounted and run the radials up on the roof ?  I guess not.  How about running some wires along the ground and trying it out, after that if it works, I could try to get them burried.  Also about the cold, We haven't been in the fifties since new years eve, really odd for us.  Yesterday morning it was 19 degrees where I live.  My above ground pool had ice on the top of it, also Sunday morning.
