All,

I have begun researching the Icom IC-7200 so I can write about it on the
Handiham website. It comes with speech installed, plus a USB connection that
ports audio both ways and also does rig control without having to set up a
special hardware interface. I'll let you know when I find out more. This is
a fairly new rig, just reviewed in QST this past summer. Pricing is around
$920 at HRO and other outlets. There is no internal antenna tuner option,
but with the addition of an LDG autotuner you will match more than most
internal tuners and it should be relatively cheap. Receiver characteristics
look pretty good. Lots of goodies like auto and manual IF notch, DSP, etc.,
etc.

Regards,

Patrick Tice

Kenwood TS2000, kenwood TS480, kenwood TS570D and DG, icom IC7000, Icom
IC706mark II...and then we get into the older radios...although the ts570 is

no longer made but a damn good rig if you can find one.
