there. This is not new for them though, as the same thing happened over there
in pakistan last year. may Allah bring unity to the Ummah. Ameen.

Bro Habib,
Ndokalekor chi Basbi. Yalna Yalla Nangu sunu korr ag sunu nganyi.
The Gambia has set a new world record being the only country in the world
that prayed
today. A lot of questions are being ask by religious scholars on the
pronouncement
made by the Supreme Islamic council and they have a lot to answer for this
isolated
decision. As far as i know a number of people in the greater Banjul area had
to
abandon their fasting after it was made known to them that the moon has been
sighted
in many parts of Senegal. The Gambia is within Senegal and we have for many
years
been consulting each other on the sighting of the moon and this also includes
Mauritania. Why should we be left behind after Senegal announced that they
have
sighted the moon in many of their districts including Kaolack ? Mr A.E.W.F
Badjie
otherwise known as Kama Badjie lambasted the council on this dices ion and
said they
have a lot to answer and have failed the muslim community. It was even said
on t.v
that the whole committee agreed that we should pray on saturday but the
president of
the council did not agree and went on announcing sunday as the day of prays.
The
muslim elder went on calling the president of the council Alh Banding
Drammeh a
dictator and suggested the formation of regional councils in the various
divisions.
This is what i said in my earlier posting on the
division such controversial decision will have on the muslim community.May
Allah
guide us to avoid such mistakes that would bring divisions among ourselves .
Amen .
Happy and Blessed Ramadan to all.
Bro Sheikh Tejan Nyang.
