When I was a kid the adults we knew ranged from Cornell professors to
backwoods rabbit hunters who mostly only talked to their Beagles. But
there was one set of adults who were farmer type radio hams or owned
home-built airplanes or tractors or collected old tools or raced
dirt-track stock cars or built the TV cable system out of spools of wire
off the backside of a pu-truck and these guys would hang out in some
corner of a place, yes with a coal pot belly stove at the old river mill
in Brooktondale is one of my earliest memories, and talk and yammer and
just get on with all sorts of stuff that they found interesting... this
sometimes is sort of how I see BP.
