Steve, I didn't know that replying to me or the list was a user-configurable option. First, maybe you could suggest how to change it. I certainly don't mean to have everything sent to me off-list. Perhaps others could benefit, too.
The amp, Dentron Clipperton-L, has four 572's in grounded grid, no tuned input. Driving it at this time with a Drake T-4XC.
My question would have an answer like this--even though this might be wrong:
1. Start with load control at one end, max or min
2. apply limited drive to the final
3. adjust plate control for either a plate current dip or for max output
4. Adjust loading for either a plate current dip or max output
5. Repeat 3 and 4 until further plate current dip or max output is not possible.
6. Apply intended drive
7. Touch up plate and load controls
This is kind of how I've been doing it for years. No one has ever told me how it should be done.
