There are a number of Linux versions.  I would like to point out some of the
Linux-live distributions.  These are versions which you can run by booting
from a CD/DVD drive.  You don't have to reconfigure your Windows computer to
try them (although you can install them).  Not all versions will run on all
computers so you may have to try more than one.  You can find a list of the
Linux-live distros at http://www.livecdlist.com/
