Danny:
Well, upon further diagnosis, I don't think my problem is with IMAP, G-mail
or Outlook Express.
I hgot some sighted assistance from my wife, and here's what happens.
After a certain period of time, I loose my connection to the IMAP server,
and my e-mail and internet Explorer dies, even though I am still connected
to the internet via my router.
In other words, something seems to time out somehow after a certain period
of time.
I can get back on Outlook Express and Internet Explorer if I either repair
the internet connection, or completely shut down and re-start the computer,
but, as you can imagine, this is a pain.
I truly appreciate everyone's tolerance for this "off topic" post on the
list. But, maybe it's not really "off topic", since I can't be a part of
the list without reliable e-mail. HI! HI!
I'll try to keep my list traffic on this thread to a minimum, and respond to
any suggestions people give privately where possible.
Thanks, and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ

Hi Tom, I use GMAIL and Outlook Express IE7,/IE8Won't work with jaws8, and
to upgrade to 11 costs $550, but don't get me started. Anyway, I've used
Gmail gathering into outlook via the pop3 server protecal, and have never
had a problem with that arangement. I started out with IMAP on my IPOD, and
will come back to it, hopefully this weekend, as I inadvertently changed it
in ITUNES/the most in_accessible facit of Apple,/but again, don't get me
started---there's _definitely more good on that apple tree, than bad. You
might look into the pop3 configuration/and don't ask me to go through the
steps with you, as I'd have to get more knowledgeable and more sighted help
than I've got access to right now, in order to do that. HTH, anyway_/will
give you something to think about, dd.
