Hi
I took a quick check on the web and it appears that some of the
wouxun radios have talking menus. I looked on E-Bay and found one can buy
them at a good price also. So, I was wondering if any one has had first hand
experience with these radios and what people thought of them?

God bless,
Mark

Just wondering if anyone had ever heard of this? I can guarantee you =
it's news to me, and, if true, I'm kinda mad! If I knew the FT-530 had a =
voice option, I'd have bought it immediately.

=46rom K1GAX on the Wouxun list:

=86In the last 35 years as a ham, I know of four portables that had a =
voice option (plug in board). Those were the FT-530 (2 meters/70 =
centimeter) and the Icom IC-V21AT (2 meters/1 1/4 meters) both of which =
I still have (with the optional board installed) along with the Icom =
IC-W21AT (2 meters and 70 centimeters) and the Icom IC-Delta 1A (2 =
meters/70 centimeters/23 centimeters). These rigs with the option came =
out in the early '90s. These options apparently we not very popular as =
they seemed to disappear as an option after less than a year. I checked =
with Icom and they told me they sold less than a dozen units worldwide =
before discontinuing the option.

the option didn't last long. I guess it's a case of if you don't sell =
many of them, you don't make any more.

do the most in this area at the moment with their latest offerings.

I understand they were discontinued for lack of sales.
