Hi Brandon,

Most radio stores such as Amateur Electronic Supply and Ham Radio Outlet
will handle the major brands of transceivers. You didn't mention if you are
looking for 2 meter, dual band or HF gear but the numbers that are actually
accessible are few. I think your best bet for total accessibility are the
Kenwood models. Icom does make a speech unit but unless you have some
sighted assistance available for initial setup and the like, they can be
difficult to work with. Yaesu doesn't offer anything that I know of in
terms of speech at the moment.

If you are talking HF, the most accessible transceiver is the Kenwood TS-480
and many guys on the list are running them. Next is the Kenwood TS-2000 and
the list gets very limited from there. I'm not up on the 2 meter, 70
centimeter or dual band models but others on this list probably are so you
can get some good info from them, I'm sure.

Another good resource is the Handiham system which you can reach through
www.handiham.org.

Good luck in your quest and very 73.

 Kevin :)
