Some months ago, I received an email newsletter outlining a
study done on the Italian Olympic Team in which all of the
athletes were given electrocardiograms. About 15% showed
dangerous "abnormalities", and nearly all of them were
endurance athletes. I think the newsletter was from
CBS "Mousecalls", but it has since been deleted, and I
can't find the article in their archives.
At any rate, is anyone out there familiar with this study,
and know where I can find some documentation? Or, do you
know of any similar findings by others?
I think I remember some text on Arthur De Vany's site where he
mentioned that marathon runners suffered a higher cancer rate.
Is there a study/stat I can point to on that?
I'm basically interested in any studies that can point to
evidence that excessive aerobic conditioning can be
counter-productive to one's overall health.
Please and Thank You!
