How about "nonlinear cross-anisotropic behavior"?

This concerns the current understanding and design methodology that 
uses the elastic modulus of unbound granular base materials in a 
Mechanistic-Emprirical Design procedure for pavements, particularily 
Inverted Pavements.  Be sure to add a smidgeon of Intelligent 
Compaction jargon into the discussion, all the while holding a side 
conversation about baking a cake..
