And, the missing word: appreciate. Why not. The terms are appropriate  
for the thoughts expressed lately, having to do with stress, strain  
and the strength/ failure of materials in structures.

Hearing field reports makes the dry study of statics so much more real  
and interesting. And hearing of childhood tinkering and pondering  
makes the consideration mire visceral.

How that combines with pinhead discussions is what keeps this group  
alive and interesting.
