Don't let the telescoping nature of this antenna scare you off. Collapsed, it's quite short, and there's a spring at the bottom that really helps take a lot of the strain off the connector, so the antenna flexes instead of breaking your SMA. Before this antenna, I broke my SMA twice, using a long Comet triband duckie. Since changing to the Smiley antenna, no more broken connector. It's a bit expensive at $25 and change, but it's well constructed and sturdy.
