    Bob and all:

When I got home tonight, I unplugged the TV, and just left it alone for
about a half hour.

Then, I plugged it back in, and it came to life again.

So, at least I know I didn't do any damage to the unit.

For now, my low-tech solution will be to leave it unplugged, especially when
I'm on the air. We actually do that most of the time anyway, because we
aren't big TV watchers.

Then, my next step will be to put a toroid around the TV power cord, to see
if the problem repeats itself. I have a couple of real good ones that I can
try.

Finally, there is that all-important ground rod. I don't know if I can get
to it this coming week-end, but this eppisode has bumped that way up on my
priority list now! The warmer weather we are supposed to be getting here
will also help.

Thanks to everyone for assisting with this issue.

Needless to say, we are breatheing a sigh of relief here.

~Tom,

I would try unplugging the TV for at least 2 minutes. You might also short
out the AC plug to make sure that it is not holding a charge before you plug
it back in. Good luck!

Yep, David, I have tried that, although I don't know if I waited for a
few seconds to plug it back in again.

Will try that when I get home from work this evening.

Thanks, and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
