Well,

I am kind of wondering, about the Icom 7000.  I have never had either the 
kenwood 2000 or the Icom 7000, but I had 2 Icom 746 pros with the speech 
modual and I remember thinking that it was as good as the VS3 that goes in 
the Kenwood 2000 and I think that is the one that comes in the Icom 7000. 
Can anyone make a comparison?  I had the Kenwood 850 with the speech and I 
think that it was the VS3.
