Tom,

If I were buying a tuner, I'd want two things: high quality of construction, 
and enough power handling so that I could expand beyond what I'm running 
now.  Although several people have had good luck with MFJ tuners, I have 
also heard complaints from some hams that they fall short in many respects. 
You might want to look at some customer reviews on eham.net.  Some are more 
useful than others, and I always find the negative ones instructive.
