it's menu item 4. As I recall, some menu items are eliminated if you're on 
VFO, or memory, but VFO was the best starting point for good menu 
references. I'd be able to tell you actual clicks from 1 if I had mine in 
line but I haven't used it in a very long time but I believe the low beep is 
menu item 1. IF you can hook up both radios at once, you can figure out 
which one has the menu setting different but it's not too hard a radio to 
use. The default is where it selects memory channels by band, so you must 
have changed the one that's not that way unless you got it used. Someone on 
this list got one form me, if it was you that explains it because I had mine 
setup that way. I used to have 2, I still have one.
