Microphone For Echolink

Need a good, not too expensive mike for Echolink.  I had a really good
microphone but it isn't working now and the guys couldn't find a replacement
cartridge.  It is an old PA type with super range.  My wife got me one that
was cheap and has no lows and it makes popping noise when I talk even when I
cross-talk it. Suggestions and details on price and source will be greatly
appreciated.  Jack on HP is 1/8 inch but don't know if mono or stereo.
