Hi!
Thanks Lamin, Ablie, Malick and others. I will indeed share the other
material. Lamin, regarding your conversation about copyright, I'm not
worried because I know you will put in a good word for me. You will
cover my back. Have a good evening.

Very useful indeed, and I thank you for being a custodian of our
national heritage. Please share other material on our socio-political
heritage.
Undoubtedly, 1981 was a difficult year. I remember attending a session
of Parliament (as it then was), and sitting through a bill presented to
the House by Fafa Edirissa Mbai, then Attorney General and Minister of
Justice. Coming on the hills of Kukoi's briefly successful rebellion,
it was quite a draconian piece of proposed legislation, but
nevertheless passed without debate. Was the bill understood, or was it
party collusion at illiberalism?
As suggested by a prior reaction, 1982 presented a decidedly faulty
climate for 'democratic' elections, but the PPP went ahead as if
nothing was amiss. Ignoring lawlessness more a part of our public
landscape since the free for all days of the First Republic.
On the video, I must nevertheless inform you that when I speak to the
Professor tonight, I am duty bound to tell him of your violating his
GRTS copyright, the successor to Dawda Jawara's Radio Gambia. Let me
know if you have any special message for inclusion in that
conversation.
That notwithstanding, I join others in celebrating your great
historical sense, and for helping make this material a permanent
element of our national record.

Hi Lamin and others!
Find below a link to a documentary
entitled: "Gambia Goes To The Polls". The film is about the 1982
general elections immediately following the Kukoi saga. I have several
documentaries about Gambia from the 1980s. I can post another
documentary next weekend. The one I am thinking about is when Jawara
resigned and people were begging him. Hope you find find the video
useful. The link is:
