One comment on FireWire for clarity.
High speed USB is rated at 480.
IEEE 1394A is rated up to 400.
IEEE 1394B is rated at ranges from 800 to 1.2G.
Certainly, high speed USB is great for data transfer. It gives the older
firewire (IEEE 1394A) a run for the money. However, and when talking video
transfers, IEEE 1394B (a newer version of firewire) is a better solution for
the video camera to disk option.
I am still a strong supporter of USB for file transfers such as printer
connections and thumb drives. This is just a personal opinion.
