Diane,
Does the laptop wireless modem hardware support wpa or wpa2 security?
I would try to delete all the wireless connections from the laptop if you can't connect with them anyway, delete the wireless modem from the hardware, shut down the laptop. Then restart the laptop. It should find the hardware and automatically reinstall it, then try again to connect and enter the proper passwords and security settings.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Wireless Router
*I'm trying to get my Compaq laptop running Vista to work with my router.
I'm using Comcast Broadband with an Arris modem plugged into my Netgear router, which is plugged into my pc.
The laptop finds the signal, but can't connect. I have the Wireless Security set as **WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]** and have a password.
It's got to be a problem with my laptop. I have other wireless devices that are able to use the network. It finds the network, but can't connect to it. It has connected to one nearby that is unsecured.
Is it too encrypted for my laptop?
Thanks.
Diane
