Try not booting the machine with the USB drive attached. Plug it in after
the machine is up and running.

Subject: [PCBUILD] External hard drive
Hi,
I have an external hard drive that is giving me some problems. It's a
Simpledrive 3 gig usb drive. For the last week every other time that I
boot up my machine the Simpledrive does not boot up right. I get a
drive not found error. It shows a question mark on the drive and will
not let you access it. The only way I have found to correct the problem
is to shut down the system and re-boot again until it starts up right.
So my questions are: Is the drive going bad? Would reloading the
software help? Comments? Ideas?
Drive has been defraged regularly. It is loaded with pictures and music
but still has 260g of space.
Thank you so much for your help,
Regina Long
