Ron, in my opinion (FWIW), I sincerely doubt that Cordain meant it was *actually* impossible to replace all grainfields with fruit/veggie fields, but rather that it was so impractical it should be considered impossible. Just think about it for a moment - First, you'd have to convince the billions of people worldwide who rely almost entirely on grains that their diet is (and always has been) wrong. Then, you'd have to change almost all of the farming methods, equipment, etc. Heck, even if we could convince everyone worldwide, and got their approval, we'd likely lose several hundred million - or even a billion - people to starvation during such a transition.

On a much, much smaller scale it might be practical, and probably worthwhile.
