Terry,

I can't speak for JFW, though I do know there is a script out there to work
with MSMessanger.  Window Eyes has set files that work with AOL Instant
Messanger version 3 and it works out of the box with MSMessanger service
without any special set file.  You can get the set files from the GW Micro
web site at www.gwmicro.com.

As for an accessible chat application, the most accessible one I know of is
Purge32 chat.  You can get this software at www.purge32.om.  Hope this helps.
