and their library of various Christian books in accessible format has
been mentioned in this and other forums numerous times. I requested
their library disk in 2007. At the time, it filled one cd. By now it
has grown to fill a whole dvd disk or 7 cd's. It is well worth
getting and just a treasure trove.

What impressed me the most, though, is what Pastor Tom calls the
"Optasia Bible Collection". Optasia had several Bible translations in
accessible format. they by now have unified the format into html
format. 14 different english Bible translations are available in this
format. This can be easily read and navigated in the browser of your
choice and also works on several portable reading devices.

Each of the Bibles is available separately but they are also
available as part of the aforementioned "Bible Collection." the neat
thing about the "Bible Collection" is that it allows easy switching
between different translations. This makes comparing scripture
passages in different translations a breeze and can be done offline.

the Bible Collection is not meant to replace a Bible software package
as the Bible Collection has only very limited search capability (its
search capability islimited to what your screenreader can do with an
html document) but the learning curve for use of the Optasia bible
collection is much less steep and it also comes with most major
modern Bible translations for free which would not be included in
most free Bible software packages. (The Optasia Bible Colection is
exclusively made for the use of the blind and visually impaired,
which is why it is able to offer these modern translations. So don't
pass it on to your sighted peers. ,g>)

It is just a great tool for Bible reading and bible study and very
easy to use. the Optasia bible Collection is part of the Optasia
Reference Library disk. If you have not ordered your copy, this would
be a good time and reason to do so. I'm sure you'll be blessed by the
library disk and its content and especially this Bible collection.
The Optasia library disk can be gotten by using the contact
information on the above webpage or by writing to Pastor Tom directly at
