Ice blasting
Here is the test with dry systems ; and Ice is more or less a dry system
if you can hold your bare hand in front of them for a half or min or so its
safe enough to use on your wood ;
with a dry system the operator if he is skilled can control the patina
(the level of cleaning )and not soak the substrate ;
What is necessary for any dry system is to have a compressor big enough
(100 cfm) to drive the media ; yet where it gets tricky is to control the
PSI at the nossle
Here are just a few suggestions of dry systems :
Arm and Hammer baking soda ; black beauty (low psi) ; #00 sand ;
crushed pecan and wallnut shells but the one I recomend most is a double
Bombay saffire with a little Vermouth ; then call me in the morning Py
