Well, Steve, your vote for this company and what they do is helpful.

Sometimes, it's just hard to know.

I am so thankful too for e-ham reviews, and lists like this.

No, I think mine was the regular 80-meter dipole, can't remember if it was
the
dxcc but I doubt it because it was 135 feet long. But, I can vouch for the
quality of W8AD's construction.

    This is very encouraging, Steve.

Is the particular antenna you're using the DXCC?

On my Alpha-Delta dipole, I shortened it for the phone portion of 75 Meters.
It is resonant around 3820 and I can cover down to 3500 with the internal
tuner on my TS-2000.

The AlphaDelta I have has a heavy-duty insulator, a gas discharge element
that
is supposed to recduce some noise, and it is made of heavy-duty at least
14-gauge if not 12-gauge wire. Very nicely constructed, and Don W8AD was
prompt in answering questions.

    Richard:

If you cut the antenna for the center of 80, though, might you be able to
get away with using a tuner for the outer edges on either side? Or, will
the antenna likely be too narrow on 80 meters for something like that?

Hi;
At a prior qth I had great luck with alpha delta. Their dipole for 80 & =
40 meter covers all of forty meters and about 100 kc on 80 under 2/1
It is nice in that you don't have to use ladder line and the feed line =
doesn't have to go straight down. I had no support under the center and =
it held up fine. You do have to cut the ends of the antenna for the =
portion of 80 meters you want to use.
