regarding type acceptance of radios capable of operating on amateur
frequencies.
do the regulations in the US not state that as long as a person has an
advanced class license, they can operate equipment that has not been "type
accepted" by the FCC?
I seem to remember that regulation being in there.
In canada we do have such a regulation. For holders of a basic ham license,
they can only operate home built equipment, or non-type accepted equipment
capable of operating above 902MHZ.
For advanced license holders, they are allowed to operate equipment non-type
accepted on any amateur frequency as long as it is within the set limits of
radiation and band width etcetra.
So as long as you have a higher license class, radio's like the puxing are
quite legal to use as an amateur.
