Chris,

With the exception of a couple minor things, it's speaking ability is similar.
The menus speak, but other items such as PL tones, power level, mike gain, you
have to set by counting the detents on the multi-channel knob. There is a
beep at the hi and low end for setting power and mike gain.

Subject: Kenwood TS2000

Hi All,

I got a look at a Kenwood 2000 for the first time last night, and was
impressed. It seems that with all the buttons and knobs it would be a lot
to memorize, and I was wondering just how much the 2000 will speak in
comparison to the TS480.

I love my 480 and wouldn't part with it, but the 2000 is certainly an
ingriguing radio.

Thanks much.
