I have seen the 2000 on QTH for around a thousand dollars, and as cheap as
$950. Then all you need is the voice chip, and you're good to go. I
actually traded my TS-480 for one plus a couple of hundred bucks. I just
wish I had the 480 back. Not because I don't like the 2000, but I want the
480 for a portable set up.

Subject: TS 2000 or ?
No I am not really changing my mind on what I want. LOL I am guessing
but the time I got a TS 2000 up and on the air, it would be $1700-1800 or
so.
Is there a less expensive option that woiuld still be useful even with a
TS 2000 in use? Maybe even go with a used setup. Thanks.
