It's standard, but a bit hidden as most things in windows are.
1. open my computer
2. highlight a drive.
3.  right click the drive.
4. open properties.
5.  press control-tab once to the tools menu.
7.  You will be in the first tab of the choices for error checking.  That's 
chkdsk actually.
