Regarding the two accessible handie-talkies mentioned yesterday, the Kenwood
TH-FA6 and the Icom T-90A, I did some checking on the web. I was surprised
to learn that the Kenwood is about $70 more expensive than the Icom. These
HT's have been around for about seven years and are still going strong. At
least the Icom has a lithium ion battery, which I assume it did not have
until a few years ago, since NiCads used to be the standard. I wonder if
they have been upgraded in any way since the first came out. These
companies used to discontinue HT's after a year or two.
