bricks, back-up, veneer... yesterday and today I had to lay up another
faux fireplace w/ salvaged historic brick
essentially two columns with a flat arch and it had to be dead on flat
plane as historic wood millwork is to be attached to it
not so much of a problem other than that there is very little supporting
the masonry, a faux firebox
it was nerve wracking, installed in a hotel elevator lobby in a very
busy construction site
guys walking through the work area all day, carrying stuff, etc.
dropping scaffold on the floor, yelling behind me while I am trying not
to mess up
and less than 6' away the terrazzo guys grinding out the floor of the
elevator cab, very noisy
like a sport, extreme brick laying
all told I think it came out pretty good
