If all you want to do is to back-up your system, it's probably not necessary 
to upgrade.

Ron,
    I sitll have version 6 of Nero and want to know if its worth upgrading
to the latest version.  I would use it mainly to backup the computer onto
dvd's.  Nero was always rather overwhelming but your email should help make
it simpler.  Full backups as well as incremental backups is what I should be
doing.
