Subject: New "Biz Band" Items of Interest
While researching Moto biz-band radios I've come across a couple of
items that might be of interest to others to listen to these freqs:
1. Motorola has introduced a new line (the "RDX" series) of radios aimed
at retail/hospitality/etc. users. These new radios take the place of
their XTN-series radios. With the new line come 6 new freqs in the VHF
models (replacing MURS freqs) and 33(!) new freqs in the UHF models.
They also added a new PL tone (69.3). A PDF file version of the
RDX-series owners manual can be found at http://tinyurl.com/9v6ce8 - the
freq/tone info starts on page 68 of the manual.
2. Motorola also has a line (the "DTR Series") of frequency hopping
spread spectrum digital radios that operate in the 902-928 MHz ISM band.
These radios can't be monitored, but I feel that it's a good thing to
be able to identify these radios (which sorta look like Nextel radios).
More info can be found at http://tinyurl.com/7wz24h .
Happy listening,
Kevin
