Mustard flour is a powder made from pure ground mustard seed and it is
gluten-free.
Prepared mustard flour is a powder made of ground mustard seed, sugar, salt
and spices. Some brands may also contain wheat flour or wheat starch, which
are not gluten-free. Check the ingredient list for each brand.
Prepared mustard (what you put on hamburger and hot dogs!) contains
distilled vinegar, water, mustard seed, tumeric, salt, paprika,, spices and
garlic powder which is gluten-free. However, some specialty mustards may
also contain wheat flour which is not gluten-free. Check the ingredient list
for each brand.
