Here is the exact quote and source I was referring to
in my recent post about raw brains:
"Future research may show that brains are of greater
health value than is now appreciated. In an experiment on
the self-choice of foods by infants conducted by Dr. Clara
M. Davis, the favorite meat of all the children was raw
calves' brains. These children ate brains in amazing quantities,
often more than a pound at a meal. The mothers of children
whose diets I supervise frequently give the same report. It
is uncanny how a child whose appetite is not perverted by
sweets will select foods of outstanding nutritive value."
