Sounds like openbook isn't seeing your scanner.  You need to use the cd to 
uninstall.  When you put it in, it should run setup, if not, do it 
manually.  Once it comes up you have 3 choices as I recall, modify, repair 
and uninstall.  Do an uninstall and then a regclean if you have such a 
utility and then try a reinstall.
