If it's an optical mouse (I think that's what they call the ones without the
ball?) I have one and it does that too if I have it on too shiny of surface
or mouse pad.

Further on my weird mouse antics.I have changed the mouse. I have a newer
computer!!
And STILL, if I don't keep the mouse moving, it darts to one of the
corners!! I've done a complete scan with SPYBOT S&D, plus a boot scan with
AVAST pro !!! It's a pain when
it gets to the START corner & I click the mouse & start opens!!
Maybe this is one for the books??

My computer, about 4 years old. OS XPpro sp2, has been working perfectly
every day
until 2 days ago. I move the mouse, & it may jump anywhere on the screen.
And I mean anywhere. It doesn't head for any spot, although most jumps at to
a side or off screen!
I replaced the mouse ( both optical ) & still the same!! Now that I'm
writing this, it's working perfectly!!!! Anything else, programs, solitaire,
web sites, it's no go. Does anyone have a suggestion? Many thanks, Al Smith
